Addition of MSU at Station No. 2
On Wed., July 1 Aurora Fire Rescue will place a fourth Medical Support Unit (MSU) in service. This MSU will respond from Station No. 2 (Hoffman Heights) which is located at 12600 Hoffman Blvd., and is currently the department’s busiest fire station.
The purpose of the MSU program is to increase the availability of Aurora Fire Rescue’s engine and ladder companies, which allows the department to provide outstanding and efficient service to our residents. As with the existing three units, this MSU will be staffed every day of the week during peak incident response times. The MSU will be staffed with at least one certified paramedic and one certified EMT.
Currently, Aurora Fire Rescue has three MSUs in service operating from Station No. 1 (Aurora City Park), Station No. 4 (Mississippi and Quentin) and Station No. 7 (Iliff and Blackhawk). These high-volume areas will benefit from the added support as will our residents, visitors and department personnel.
