Planning & Zoning Commission

The purpose of the Planning & Zoning Commission is to provide recommendations to City Council on zonings and a wide range of planning and development related issues. Site Plans and Use Approvals are also under the purview of the Planning and Zoning Commission, unless appealed to City Council.

Member Information


  • Must be a registered elector and resident of the City of Aurora for at least one year immediately preceding the date appointment.
  • Cannot hold paid office or position in the City administration.
  • If any member ceases to be a resident of the City of Aurora, membership shall immediately terminate.

Meeting Schedule

The second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Additional meetings are sometimes added during the course of the year. "Special" meetings generally deal only with one particular issue and are usually not available as a normal hearing date.

Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway. *Note: The Planning & Zoning Commission will meet via teleconference until further notice. Please see the agenda for access details.
