PET LICENSES

The City of Aurora requires that all cats and dogs, over 6 months of age, be current on their rabies vaccines and licensed through the Aurora Animal Shelter. Once your pet has been licensed, the shelter will provide you a license tag to be hung on your pet's collar. Per city ordinance, both the city license and rabies tag must always be worn. The city license is also a great tool to reunite you with your pet if they get lost. 


Licenses can be purchased the following ways:

• In person or by mail - A copy of your rabies certificate will be needed to purchase or renew
  • Please mail to 15750 E 32nd Ave, Aurora, CO 80011. 
• Online - Upload your rabies certificate with your application or email to [email protected]. PDF or JPEG file only. Reminder: This method can take up to 20 business days to process.

• 1 - Year Cat or Dog License - - $15
• 3 - Year Cat or Dog License - - $40
• 50% discount for residents 65 or older (proof of age is required)

• 1 - Year Cat or Dog License - - $50
• 3 - Year Cat or Dog License - - $150
• No license discount available for animals that are not spayed or neutered
