New American Arts Festival presents, We Pledge: Monologues, Music, and Memoirs

“We Pledge,” is a series of monologues, inspired by the experiences of veterans and active-duty personnel of the United States Armed Forces. This intimate and humane look at the military will also feature music by veteran, John Evans, and his group, as well as Evan Cauble-Johnson, veteran’s reflections on war and peace, spoken word performance by Brice Maiurro, and dance by Ballet Folklórico Sangre de México.
Tickets available through Roshni. Ticket proceeds benefit Roshni’s work with refugees, displaced by war.

“Mango House” movie screening

Join us at the Aurora History Museum for a free screening of the award-winning film, "Mango House." The hour-long documentary focuses on PJ! Parmar and his business. Mango House is a shared space for refugees, asylees, and immigrants. With healthcare, stores, religious gatherings, services, restaurants and events, Mango House is a community hub. Come early to see our exhibit on local businesses.

Arsenic and Old Lace Radio Drama and Afternoon Tea

Arsenic and Old Lace is a gleeful, ghoulish comedy. The quaint, cozy, joyous show is full of serial killers, psychotic convicts, dead bodies, and the constant threat of murder! This script is taken from the original live radio broadcast in 1948. Four actors play all the roles, produce sound effects and perform musical interludes, as if you were watching a live radio broadcast from a bygone era. Afternoon tea, catered by Babe’s Tea Shop begins at 4 p.m. and includes tea, sandwiches, 5 kinds of baked goods, and condiments.
Tickets for tea are $45/ $5 for the show only.
