At 1700 on Sunday, August 20, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire in a multi-family apartment home. AFR initially responded to reports of a fire that started on a second-floor balcony and rapidly extended to the third floor. The flames also reached the attic space above the third-floor unit. Due to wind conditions aiding the fire’s swift progression, a second-alarm was called to by initial crews to gain more fire apparatus at the scene.

Residents and pets were quickly accounted for, with no reported missing persons or animals.

One individual sustained minor injuries during the incident and received immediate treatment on-site by medical personnel.

Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further damage to the multi-family residential building and ensuring the safety of all occupants.

Currently utilities are shut off to the apartment complex of the units that were affected. It is estimated that approximately 20 units are impacted by the utilities being secured. Any resident affected by the power/utilities being shut-off should contact Greenview management or the Red Cross at 303-722-7474.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.
