The Build Up Aurora Infrastructure Task Force unanimously made two recommendations to the Aurora City Council:
- Prioritization of the 10-year Capital Improvement Master Plan to fund high-impact, ready and critical needs first, while planning future capital investments
- Referral of three ballot questions to the November 2026 ballot, which seeks authorization for the city to increase the sales and use tax rates and issue bonds in the amounts as follows:

The findings of the task force and these recommendations were initially presented to the Aurora City Council at the May 9, 2026, council spring workshop where the council agreed to move the recommendations forward for consideration at the May 18 study session, with a first reading at the June 8 regular meeting and a final reading at the June 22 regular meeting.

Peoria over Sand Creek Bridge
Funding Amount: $37,000,000
Location: Ward I
Description: Replacement of the end-of-life Peoria Street bridge over Sand Creek with a wider six-lane bridge, operational and safety improvements, and improved sidewalks with connections to the Sand Creek Trail.
High Priority Sidewalk Improvements
Funding Amount: $7,000,000
Location: Wards I, II and III
Description: Design and construction of missing sidewalk segments and ADA curb ramps for multimodal access and network connectivity in 10 locations across the city:

- North Peoria Street north of 30th

Parks include General's Park, Terrace Park, Apache Mesa Park, Panorama Park, Country Lane Park, Sagebrush Park and Appaloosa Park.

Aurora Center for Active Adults Renovation
Funding Amount: $5,000,000

Description: Completion of a half-life renovation of the Aurora Center for Active Adults to modernize building systems, deliver full ADA upgrades, improve interior finishes and lighting, and update amenities aligned with the Older Adults Needs Assessment.
Recreation Facilities Capital Improvements

Description: Completion of improvements at existing recreation centers, including building envelope repairs, HVAC, plumbing, interior renewals, locker room and restroom upgrades, lighting upgrades, life-safety and accessibility improvements, and site security enhancements.

Mission Viejo Library Branch Remodel
Funding Amount: $5,000,000

Description: Renovation of Mission Viejo Library to expand programming and teen space, increase study space for remote work demand, and improve staff space and storage to support efficient operations.
New Northeast Aurora Library Branch
Funding Amount: $15,000,000

Description: Construction of a new library branch in Northeast Aurora.
