The City Attorney's Office, Criminal Justice Division, is responsible for the prosecution of violations of municipal ordinances and regulations.
The City Attorney's Office is not involved in any case until after the defendant has been advised and entered a not guilty plea.
Persons making their first appearance on a traffic matter will have an opportunity to talk to a prosecutor about the case at that time.
In non-traffic cases, if a person wants to talk to a prosecutor about his/her case, it is necessary to enter a not guilty plea and schedule a pretrial conference in the future.
Discovery on a case may be accomplished on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Call the office at 303.739.7810 for an appointment. With an appointment, the file should be available and ready for your review and copying when you get here. Copies are 25 cents per copy. If there are tapes, DVDs or CDs involved you will have to provide a clean tape, DVD or CD or pay the costs for the copying and providing of the item by our office.
