(July 24, 2025) – The driver involved last weekend in a multi-vehicle crash that killed two people was arrested Wednesday by members of the Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit.
Olvin Lidenis Carcamo-Meza, 18, of Aurora, was booked into the Aurora Municipal Detention Center on two charges of vehicular homicide. Formal charges will be filed by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The charges stem from about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, when patrol officers from Districts 2 and 3 responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of South Airport Boulevard and East Alameda Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a 37-year-old female driver and a 15-year-old female passenger who were deceased at the scene.
The investigation to date has determined Carcamo-Meza was driving north on South Airport Boulevard in a black Audi sedan when he failed to stop for a red light, striking a white Hyundai sedan occupied by the two victims that was traveling west on Alameda Avenue. A Toyota sedan, which was stopped in a turn lane, was struck after the initial collision. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Carcamo-Meza sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He was arrested and booked Wednesday following his release from the hospital.
Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor to the crash. Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol. Additional charges are pending further investigation.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
