AURORA, Colo. - The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating two fatal stabbings that occurred early Sunday morning. Based on the timeline, proximity of locations, and similarities in injuries, investigators now believe the two incidents are connected.
The first incident was reported at approximately 1:45 a.m. on June 29, 2025. Officers responded to the 1500 block of Moline Street after receiving a report of an unresponsive male on the sidewalk. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from apparent stab wounds. Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene.
Just before 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a second report of an unresponsive male near a bus stop on Peoria Street, south of East Colfax Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a man with apparent stab wounds. He was also pronounced deceased on scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that both victims were experiencing homelessness. While the circumstances leading up to the fatal stabbings are not yet known - including whether the victims were specifically targeted because of their housing status - the department activated its Homeless Abatement and Relocation Team (HART) on Sunday. HART will continue working closely with Major Crimes detectives to conduct outreach and offer services to individuals in the area.
These cases remain active and ongoing. At this time, no suspect information is available, and no arrests have been made. Investigators are actively following up on leads, including searching for and reviewing surveillance footage from the vicinity.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
