Filipino Friday Nights 
While working to develop “Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora’s Filipino Community,” we discovered so many great stories from our local partners that we couldn’t fit everything into our gallery. Filipino Friday Nights will explore Filipino culture and history. These events are included with museum admission, but free for members.

“Shadows and Sunrises” Author Talk with Sheilah Jane 
Friday, Sept. 4, 6 p.m. 

Sheilah Jane is a Filipina American author whose work explores resilience, identity and belonging. She will discuss her debut memoir, “Shadows and Sunrises,” which weaves her personal journey with reflections on cultural history. FACC Padayon will also perform.

The History of Filipino Music with Sonny Masicampo and friends 
Friday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m. 

Join “eSonny” Masicampo and friends for an evening of musical storytelling exploring the history of Filipino Music from Harana and Kundiman through the rise of Manila Sounds and Original Filipino Music.

Dragon Boat Experience  
Friday, Oct. 9, 6 p.m. 

The Philippine American Society of Colorado’s Fighting Dragons are one of the longest competing teams in the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. Hear about their competitions and experience rowing for yourself.

Lyn Buti Lambago, T’Boli Tradition Bearer 
Friday, Oct. 30, 6 p.m. 

Lyn Buti Lambago is a T’boli tradition-bearer from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. She preserves and shares the dances, music, crafts and traditions of the Tboli people, one of the many Indigenous cultural communities that make up the Philippines.
