(Donation Drive) Help the Aurora Youth Commission Fill the Bus!
The Aurora Youth Commission is collecting non-perishable food items and hygiene products with the goal to fill up the Youth Services Bus!
Fill the Bus Donation Drive Event:
Saturday, April 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Central Recreation Center, 18150 E. Vassar Place
Can't make it to the donation drive event?
Drop off your donations at the following locations
- Aurora Center for Active Adults
- Aurora Central Library
- Central Recreation Center
- Moorhead Recreation Center
- Lowry Preschool
- Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse
Items will be distributed to city recreation centers, libraries and Little Flower Assistance Center.
Accepted Items
Non-perishable good
Proteins
• Canned beans (black, pinto, chickpeas, lentils)
• Squeezable packets or canned tuna, salmon, or chicken (in water)
• Nut butters (peanut, almond, sunflower)
• Meat sticks or jerky
• Canned meals (ravioli, chili, soups)
Grains and carbs
• Rice (Brown, white, etc.), quinoa
• Oats
• Pasta
Fruits and vegetables
• Canned vegetables, fruit
• Applesauce
• Dried fruit (raisins, apricots, dates)
Healthy extras
• Snacks (crackers, gummies, granola bars, etc.)
• Shelf-stable milk alternatives (almond, soy, oat)
• Spices (black pepper, garlic powder, cinnamon)
Hygiene and Personal Items
Daily essentials
• Toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss
• Deodorant
• Bar soap or body wash
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Lotion (unscented preferred)
Health and sanitation
• Feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons)
• Disposable razors and shaving cream
• Hand sanitizer
• Disinfecting wipes
• Toilet paper, tissues and paper towels
• Laundry detergent (Unscented pods or small bottles)
• Baby wipes

- Items must ne new unopened and unexpired.
- Please consider healthy, practical options
- Please avoid glass containers if possible
