THE CONTINUOUS CHILDREN'S DANCE PROGRAM

WHAT IS THE CONTINUOUS CHILDREN'S DANCE PROGRAM:

The specialty Aurora Dance Arts Continuous Children's Dance Program is progressive dance education for students, ages 3 to 20. It consists of a comprehensive, 9-month program, with classes currently in: ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, choreography, dance conditioning, poms, tumbling/acro/floorwork and hip hop. Highly qualified instructors implement an established syllabus for beginning through advanced level classes designed to grow with dancers through childhood and adolescence. This program is intended to provide dance education for the diverse community of the city of Aurora and welcomes any students interested in training for both physical and emotional growth/fulfillment.

Students in the Continuous Program take dance classes from September-May, parallel to the school year. The Continuous Dance Year culminates with large-scale Spring Dance Recitals, in which dancers get to learn dance choreography, wear a costume and perform for a live audience on stage!

REGISTRATION AND CLASS PLACEMENT:

All Continuous Dance Program registrations must be processed by calling the Dance Office at 303.326.8308.
Registration for Continuous Dance is NOT available online.

The Dance Office provides information regarding dance styles and levels offered, availability of classes and pricing. The Dance Office will also place your family on the required monthly payment plan and process payment for your costume fees.
Children are placed in classes based on age, ability and technique level. Classes are arranged sequentially so that each student progresses safely, without gaps in training, and are well-prepared for the next technique level. Instructors may recommend a transfer to another class (up or down a level) based on ability and the best interest of the student.
Students should expect to spend two to three years in any given level/style in this program for proper training and development.

*IMPORTANT: Registration for the 9-Month Continuous Dance Program will be closing soon. So if you are still interested in joining a 9-Month Continuous Class that began in September, you must register before Dec. 16, 2024!

*If you are unable to register in time for the 9-Month Continuous Dance Program, we also offer a specialty program of 5-Month Continuous Dance Classes that run from January-May of 2025, and also include the end-of-year culmination dance performances in the Spring Recital. This program is similar to the 9-Month Program, but just a more consolidated experience. This program also requires enrollment over the phone with the Dance Office in order for you to be enrolled in a monthly dance tuition payment plan, get your child correctly level-place and pay pertinent costume fees. So this registration is NOT AVAILABLE online. If you would like to register for one of our 5-Month Continuous classes, you must call the Dance Office at 303.326.8308.

5-MONTH CONTINUOUS CLASSES OFFERED IN 2025:

• BEG BALLET (7-11 year olds)– THURSDAYS from 5:45-6:45 p.m. at CENTRAL REC CENTER w/Ms. Maggie

• PRE BALLET (4-6 year olds)– FRIDAYS from 4:30-5:15 p.m. at CENTRAL REC CENTER w/Ms. Rebecca

• PRE BALLET (4-6 year olds)– SUNDAYS from 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. at CENTRAL REC CENTER w/Ms. Ruby

LOCATIONS:

Aurora Dance Arts classes take place at various city of Aurora facilities: Expo, Meadowood and Central Rec Centers. Due to studio availability, the bulk of the Continuous Dance Program is located at Expo and Meadowood Rec Centers with supplementary offerings at Central Rec Center.
