Teachers learn about how wildfires affect water quality during the Forests to Faucets workshop.

During Forests to Faucets Two, teachers can opt to bike around the Aurora Reservoir.

Aurora Water offers free continuing education workshops for Pre-K-12 educators, paraeducators, specialists and administrators.

Forest to Faucets I

Join us for a three-day, three Continuing Education Units (CEUs) workshop to learn about where your water comes from.  You’ll explore our mountain watersheds, learn about the effects of forest fires on our water, conduct water quality studies and tour our water-wise garden and water treatment facilities. You’ll take part in discussions with expert speakers, develop hands-on skills and walk away with the nationally recognized Project Learning Tree and Project WET (Water Education Today) curriculum guides. 

Date: July 13-15, 2027

Location: Aurora Water Southeast Area Maintenance Facility

CEUs: In partnership with Colorado State University Pueblo, educators who attend this workshop will gain three CEUs issued under the seal of CSU Pueblo’s Division of Extended Studies. Aurora Water will cover the cost for educators who teach in the city of Aurora. Educators who teach outside of the city of Aurora will have the opportunity to pay for their CEUs during the workshop.

Forest to Faucets II

Join us for this one-day, one-Continuing Education Unit (CEU) follow-up workshop to learn more about water conservation and the relationship between water and climate change.  After learning about Aurora’s water history at the Aurora Reservoir, you’ll take part in discussions with expert water speakers, develop hands-on skills, and walk away with the nationally recognized Project WET (Water Education Today) curriculum guide. 

Date: July 20, 2027

Location: Aurora Water Southeast Area Maintenance Facility

CEUs: In partnership with Colorado State University Pueblo, educators who attend this workshop will earn one CEU issued under the seal of CSU Pueblo’s Division of Extended Studies. Aurora Water will cover the cost for educators who teach in the city of Aurora.
