City advisory group focused on oil and gas industry topics has a vacancy for a member from outside the industry
The city of Aurora is accepting applications for one citizen position to serve on the Oil and Gas Advisory Committee.
The position will fill a partial-term vacancy that ends June 30, 2027. The deadline to apply is Oct. 14.
Candidates must be legal residents of Aurora who are interested in oil and gas topics, but who have not been trained in, worked in or are currently working in the industry. Every effort will be made to appoint a resident from the areas most affected by oil and gas activity in Aurora.
The committee’s purpose is to provide advice and recommendations to the City Council and staff regarding oil and gas development within the city in matters that the city has legal authority to regulate and to provide an educational forum for the oil and gas industry, residents, surface property owners and other stakeholders to discuss the benefits and impacts of industry activity within Aurora.
The committee’s membership is made of up of five citizens members, — including up to two from areas within Aurora that are most affected by oil and gas at the time of their appointments — three industry representatives who are registered to vote in Colorado and three surface property owners.
