City launches survey for Gas Station Spacing Study to gather input related to proposed regulations

The city of Aurora is seeking community input on regulations related to the development of new gas stations.
The regulations under consideration would potentially:
• Limit the distance between new gas stations and existing gas stations
• Limit the distance between new gas stations and residential neighborhoods
• Place requirements for providing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at new gas stations
The topic was discussed at a council policy committee meeting in July, which directed staff to gather public input on these potential zoning and development code changes.
The city is seeking input by Oct. 31 from residents, neighborhood organizations, business owners, developers, employees who work in Aurora, and others.
Review the current conditions and scenario maps and take the survey at EngageAurora.org/GasStations.
