The city of Aurora is proud to launch "Together, We Keep Aurora Beautiful," a campaign to inspire pride and enhance the beauty of Aurora's neighborhoods through collaborative and community-led efforts.

This effort supports Aurora's strategic plan, connecting and engaging the community in activities that support a clean and safe community where residents and businesses can thrive and be proud to call home. Waived permit fees, online resources, cleanup kits and more will help “Together, We Keep Aurora Beautiful” combine the fun and camaraderie of block parties and community picnics with meaningful beautification projects and volunteer service opportunities.

“This initiative is a clear example of what it means to come together, to lift each other up and elevate our neighborhoods to be welcoming, inviting and inspiring; we all have a role to play, and it starts block by block,” said Council Member Stephanie Hancock, who sponsored City Council-approved resolutions last year—along with Mayor Pro Tem Steve Sundberg and Council Member Angela Lawson—to encourage beautification efforts.

“Together defines what it means to be a community; this initiative highlights community-led efforts, supported by various city departments, to keep Aurora beautiful,” Lawson said. Also speaking about the campaign, Sundberg shared: "Whether it’s gathering with neighbors to clean up your block or learning how we can all be better stewards of our land and water, this initiative is about more than just litter—it’s about pride in our community and connection with one another. I’m proud to be part of this effort to help keep Aurora clean and thriving.”

Campaign initiatives include the longtime Adopt-A-Street Program and newly established Neighborhood Cleanup Program, both of which encourage residents, neighborhood groups, and community and service organizations to take an active role in helping keep streets free of litter. Beautification materials to support cleanup efforts are available. Learn more and sign up at AuroraGov.org/AdoptAStreet.
