Librarian Sara Wood and the first Aurora Public Library

One hundred years ago this October, a determined group, the Aurora Women’s Club, began raising funds to open our city’s first public library. It took them four years to collect $171—about $3,000 today—but their efforts built a foundation that continues to serve our community a century later.

Now, we’re inviting you to be part of that ongoing legacy. In celebration of Mission Viejo Library’s 50th anniversary, we’re working toward a $75,000 goal to strengthen library spaces, programs and community connections.

As the 150 for 50 campaign nears its close, we’re looking for donors to help inspire others to give

  • 30 donors at $300 each – $9,000 total
  • 171 donors at $100 each – $17,100 total
  • 300 donors at $30 each – $9,000 total

With the enthusiasm of our patrons, neighbors and local businesses, we’re confident we can reach this goal. More than 230 donations have already come in—thank you! Can we count on you to keep the momentum going?

We’re also seeking $3,000 matching donors to help amplify community gifts. To learn more about this opportunity and donor recognition, please contact us at [email protected].

Thank you for helping us write the next chapter of Aurora Public Library’s story.

P.S. Ready to give now? Visit our campaign page and make your donation today.
