Two Arrested in Connection with Fatal Aurora Shooting
Posted on 03/23/2025

(March 23, 2025) - The Aurora Police Department Major Crimes Homicide Unit announced Sunday that two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night.

Laneidra Williams-Whitehead, 45, of Aurora, and Jamir Williams, 24, of Aurora, were taken into custody Saturday night following hours of investigative work and surveillance. The arrests were made with the assistance of multiple Aurora Police Department units, as well as local and federal partner agencies. Both suspects were booked into the Aurora Municipal Detention Center on charges of first-degree murder.

Formal charges will be filed by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

The charges stem from a shooting reported at approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 17100 block of East Adriatic Drive. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered lifesaving aid until medical responders arrived. The victim, who will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim and Laneidra were in an active relationship and had been involved in a domestic dispute earlier that evening. Later that night, Laneidra’s son, Jamir Williams, arrived at the location and confronted the victim. During the confrontation, Jamir produced a handgun and shot the victim.

Detectives continue to investigate, and the case remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
