(Jan. 19, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help with information about a cold homicide investigation that occurred in 2020 at an apartment complex in central Aurora.

About 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, Aurora police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 15600 block of East Caspian Circle. Once on scene, officers located a 24-year-old Aurora man with an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers performed life-saving actions on the victim until medical responders arrived at the scene. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was subsequently identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office as Traivon Eugene Williams.

Major Crime Homicide Unit detectives conducted a thorough investigation, but all actionable leads were exhausted, and the case became cold. Investigators believe there are witnesses who have information about the shooting who have not yet been interviewed by police.

The Aurora Police Department urges anyone with information about the homicide to come forward by contacting cold case detective Jason McDonald at 303.739.6013.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with any information can also contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
