(Dec. 14, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a double homicide and suicide that occurred Saturday morning in East Aurora.
Just before 10 a.m., Aurora police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 10300 block of East Evans Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the suspected shooter, an Aurora 19-year-old, with an apparent, self-inflicted fatal gunshot wound.
Officers also located a one-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman who sustained life-threatening injuries. Officers performed life-saving actions on both victims until medical responders arrived at the scene.
The girl and the woman were rushed to local hospitals, where they later died from their injuries. All three deceased will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
A fourth victim, a 44-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries during the shooting. She was treated at the scene.
The preliminary investigation has determined all the parties involved are known to each other. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
