(Feb. 2, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal overnight shooting on Nome Street in northwest Aurora.
Patrol officers responded shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Nome Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 29-year-old Aurora man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers performed CPR on the man until an ambulance arrived at the scene. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The man will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The shooting is not related to the two other recent homicides on Ford and Florida avenues.
