(Jan. 19, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred in west Aurora.
About 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment building in the 10700 block of East Exposition Avenue. A 911 caller reported she was on the phone with her sister when she overheard an argument followed by several gunshots.
Responding officers located the apartment and attempted to make contact with someone inside. When no one answered the door, officers entered the residence and located a woman suffering from obvious gunshot wounds.
The woman, a 35-year-old Aurora resident, died at the scene. She will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The suspected shooter has not yet been positively identified and no arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867).
