Aurora Fire crews respond to reports of a fire in a detached garage adjacent to a residence
At approximately 4 a.m. on January 4, Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to reports of a detached garage on fire. Crews arrived and found heavy fire and smoke conditions in the garage and began to mitigate the hazard with hose lines.
Thorough searches of the structure were conducted and found no people or animals in the building and no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
The fire was quickly brought under control by crews and was kept mostly to the garage area, with no damage reported to the adjacent living spaces. However, a nearby tree and some powerlines were affected and are being addressed by the local utility provider.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
