At approximately 11:39 AM, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the report of a structure fire in the area around 300 Block of Ironton Street. Crews were on the scene within minutes and found a three-story multi-family residential home with heavy smoke on the 3rd floor.
AFR worked fast and efficiently to place hose lines for fire suppression, establish a water supply, complete searches for missing people or pets, and secure utilities for safety.
Through their efforts, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and prevent further loss. Thankfully, there were no injuries to report, as the homeowner made it out before firefighters arrived. Aurora Fire contacted the Red Cross to assist the homeowner with shelter.
Until the origin and cause are determined, the fire is under investigation. At this time, no further updates.
