Aurora Police Traffic Unit Investigating Fatal Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Crash
(Dec. 4, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle versus vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in west Aurora.
About 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, officers responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Havana Street. The investigation revealed a white sport bike was northbound on Havana when it ran a red light and struck the side of a white Dodge Caravan that was turning left on a green arrow to travel east on Iliff. The rider was then struck a second time by a black Chevy sedan, which was also making a left turn.
The rider, a 26-year-old Aurora man, died at the scene. He will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The drivers of the two vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The crash marks the 64th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
