(Nov. 7, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred Tuesday in northwest Aurora.
Patrol officers responded to a report of a crash just before 8 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Montview Boulevard and Dayton Street. The preliminary investigation revealed a woman was crossing Montview mid-block when she was struck by a silver Cadillac sedan driven by an Aurora man.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. She will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Cadillac is cooperating with the investigation. Investigators do not suspect speed or intoxication were contributing factors to the crash.
The crash marks the 61st traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
