Structure fire brought quickly under control

Aurora fire crews respond to structure fire in a single-family home.

 

At approximately 1901, Aurora Fire was dispatched to a structure fire in the neighborhood near Geneva Street and 22nd Ave.

Upon arrival fire crews found a one-story single-family home with fire inside a bedroom. Crews worked quickly and simultaneously to place hose lines in-service, secure a water supply, and complete searches for people and pets. Vertical ventilation was completed to control the fire and relieve heat and smoke for crews inside working on finding anyone missing, and utilities were secured for firefighters’ safety.

Firefighters were able to get water on the fire quickly, complete searches, and bring the fire under control. Thankfully, no one was injured or missing. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. No further updates expected.
