(Oct. 3, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred Tuesday morning in the North Aurora neighborhood.
Officers responded to the report of a pedestrian crash about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of East Montview Boulevard and Paris Street. The subsequent investigation revealed a woman was crossing mid-block from the southside of Montview to the northside when she was struck by a red Subaru Legacy that was traveling east.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified but is believed to be in her 20s, was rushed to a local hospital where she later died from the injuries she sustained in the crash. The woman will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office after notifications of next of kin.
The driver, a 20-year-old Denver woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Investigators don’t suspect any aggravating contributing factors to the crash.
The crash marks the 56th traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
