Woman Dies in Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash on S. Chambers and E. Pheasant Run Pkwy
(Sept. 28, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday night.
About 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, Aurora police officers responded to a report of a crash involving one vehicle and a person near the intersection of S. Chambers Road and E. Pheasant Run Parkway.
The investigation showed that a silver Infiniti sedan was driving northbound on Chambers, heading towards the Pheasant Run intersection when a woman, 41, ran across the street heading eastbound. The woman was struck by the vehicle and transported to the hospital where she passed away from her injuries.
The silver Infiniti stayed on scene and cooperated with police. The northbound lane of Chambers was briefly closed down as crews processed the scene.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will identify the pedestrian after notification to next of kin.
The crash marks the 52nd traffic-related death this year in Aurora.
