Boating: The season for water activities on the reservoir will end on Nov. 30


 

Boating at the Aurora Reservoir

• Boating season starts once the ice has thawed (mid to late March) and ends Nov. 30.

• Lifejackets/personal flotation devices are required for everyone regardless of age on board any type of watercraft, including but not limited to paddle boards, boats, kayaks, canoes, etc. 

• Lifejackets must be a U.S. Coast Guard approved, properly fitting size for the intended wearer, and readily accessible to the wearer on the watercraft.

• Children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a lifejacket/personal flotation device at ALL times while on board a watercraft. 

• All state regulations enforced. All watercraft with a motor including electric motors are required to be registered with the State of Colorado.

• Non-motorized vessels or electric motors ONLY. No gas motors.

•  All portable gas tanks must be removed prior to launching.

• Boat ramp is available during the season.

• Boat dry storage is available.

• Neither fishing nor sail boats are available for rent at the Aurora Reservoir.

• Any vessel that contains a compartment capable of holding water OR any vessel launched or landed via a trailer which enters the water will require a Watercraft Access Pass and must go through boat inspection. When required, the Watercraft Access Pass must be purchased annually for $20 and must be permanently affixed to the vehicle towing the vessel or on the vessel itself.
