The Aurora Water Cares assistance program helps Aurora Water customers who are past due on their water bill if they meet the program guidelines.
Eligibility Requirements
• Applicants must be Aurora Water customers or an authorized user on the account
• Must be past due on water bill
• Only one award per twelve months up to $400
• Maximum lifetime of four awards per customer account
All applications must include:
1. Completed application
2. Valid ID (must not be expired)
3. Income verification documents or LEAP approval* (Regular full-time or part-time workers should submit two months of paystubs or three months of bank statements. Zero-income customers should submit three months of bank statements or the previous year’s tax returns).
*If you have a current LEAP approval, submit the LEAP approval in lieu of income verification documentation.

Customer's household income must be at or below 60% of the state median income for household size. Customer must meet all eligibility and application requirements.

Submitted applications are initially reviewed within 48 hours. If the application is complete, includes all requirements, and meets the program qualification guidelines, an approval is determined within one week. It can take up to two weeks for payment assistance to be applied to your account.
