OTHER HELPFUL HINTS FOR SUMMER DANCE REGISTRATION:
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN: WEDNESDAY, MAY 14 at 12 p.m.
To register for the Aurora Dance Arts Summer Dance classes, you need to have a city of Aurora account. Don’t have an account? It’s easy to create one on our registration website. Please visit cityofaurora.perfectmind.com to create an account and/or register for dance classes. All summer registration is available online or by calling the Dance Office at 303.326.8308. Dance Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Friday from 12-3 p.m.
Most registration is based on age and/or ability level. Children must be the base age of a level by the start date of the class in order to be registered for that class. For example - if you wish for your child to take Tippy Toes, they must be 3 by the start date of the class, or if you would like them to be in the Beg Level, they must be 7 by the start date of the class, etc. If your child is not the correct age by the start date of the class, you must call the Dance Office at 303.326.8308 for eligibility. Additionally if your child does not turn the age needed for a given level prior to the the start date of the class, the registration site may not allow you to register online. If you are running into an age restriction when trying to register, please call the Dance Office to be registered over the phone.
There are several classes that require prior dance experience and/or instructor approval. If a class is starred with an asterisk * that means that registration approval is based on a student’s 2024-2025 Continuous Dance level or requires that a student be recommended for that level.
Pointe classes with Ms. Erin can only be taken in conjunction with their corresponding Ballet level. Example - Beg Pointe can only be taken in conjunction with Ballet II/III or Int/Adv Pointe can only be taken in conjunction with Ballet III/IV, etc. All pointe classes are starred with multiple asterisks on the schedule to clarify.
Please also note the following:
-
Unless otherwise instructed by a your child's dance teacher, all Continuous Dance Students should plan to remain in their current level for summer. Any progression to the higher levels will take place in Fall of 2025 for the 2025-2026 Continuous Dance Season. The Dance Office will be in contact with all current Continuous Dance students/parents via e-mail in June/July regarding level placement for next season.
-
If there is an exception and your child is recommended to move up to a higher level in the summer as opposed to the fall, the Dance Office will contact your family directly with that information on Monday, May 12. Dancers that are also aging up, like children that were 3 turning 4 in Tippy Toes, and children 6 turning 7, may also progress to the next level...they may progress from Tippy Toes to Pre or from Pre/Adv Pre to the Beg. Age progressions are only allowed without a teacher recommendation for Pre and Beg levels.
Please consult the pricing, style and level information to guide you in choosing the right class for you or your child. If you are unsure of your child’s level or if you need to verify your child’s eligibility for enrollment in any particular class, please either call the Dance Office at 303.326.8308 or e-mail [email protected].
Class size is limited and classes tend to fill pretty quickly, especially for the younger age groups, so we do highly recommend registering as soon as possible.
You may register for all classes online or by calling the Dance Office at 303.326.8308.
