CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST OF THE 2026 FALL PRODUCTION OF "ARE WE IN KANSAS, YET?"

Aurora Dance Arts is excited to announce the finalized Cast List for the 2026 fall production of "Are We In Kansas, Yet?" (Wizard of Oz).

Please click through every button below for all important information about participation in this show. Please make sure that you check the Cast List very carefully, as some dancers are cast as more than one character/scene. Please also make sure that you check all Rehearsal and Performance Schedules very carefully, as many dancers are called to rehearsals on various days and times. And finally, please make sure to read the Casting Protocols, Performance Fees and Policies information to understand all that is required if you accept your casting.

After careful consideration of everything stated above, please accept or decline your part/s in the show by e-mailing [email protected]. Please note that the Dance Office staff will be out of the office for the “Emerging Creatives Showcase” rehearsals/shows for the remainder of the week and through the weekend. It is asked that you allow casting decisions to settle in, to review all expectations, and review all rehearsal schedules very carefully this upcoming weekend!

*We will not be accepting any casting acceptance/decline e-mails until Monday, Aug. 17. Please DO NOT e-mail use before that date! All casting acceptance/decline e-mails must be received by Thursday, Aug. 20. We can only allow for a short window for casting acceptance, as many sections of the show will be starting rehearsals on Aug. 22.

*Please remember that we are on a tight schedule to create this show, so it is preferable that dancers do not miss any rehearsals. If necessary, dancers are allowed ONLY one excused absence only per section/rehearsal day that they are required in within the entire production period. It is preferable that excused absences are not for All Cast, Full Section Run-Through Rehearsals. No absences allowed for Dress Rehearsal nor Performances.

Thank you to everyone who auditioned! We are very proud of everyone's efforts. Unfortunately we were not able to cast all dancers who auditioned this year. Please remember that it was previously stated that auditioning does not guarantee casting, and we do have limited roles available. With about 104 auditionees this year, we had to make some difficult cuts. Often this is just because a dancer did not show us in the auditions that they are ready for this complex and demanding process. Sometimes this is because of age, and sometimes, it is because of maturity and ability to focus. We never take these decisions lightly, and we do understand that casting decisions can sometimes cause disappointment. Even just taking part in auditions takes a lot of courage, and all dancers have to learn how to deal with disappointment in casting and accept "no's" gracefully as part of their dance education process. If your dancer was not cast in this particular show, we do encourage them to keep dancing, keep working hard in classes, keep maturing in their ability to remained focused/engaged in classes/auditions, and come back to wow us in future auditions. We are very proud of all dancers, even if we weren’t able to put you in this particular show, this year!

For all that were cast in the show, congratulations! The Aurora Dance Arts Fall Productions are one of the most special opportunities in our program each year, and “Are We In Kansas, Yet?" is most definitely one of our most beloved shows. We look very forward to hearing from you next week regarding accepting your casting.

We are excited to head somewhere over the rainbow and down the yellow brick road to the merry, old land of OZ for a great rehearsal and production process ahead!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2026-2027 AURORA DANCE HEARTS

Please click the button below for the casting of those chosen to be members of the 2026-2027 Aurora Dance Hearts Performing Groups. Thank you to everyone that auditioned. We are very proud of all of you!

There are Groups Aspire, Dynamic and Ambition (ADA). Please check all castings. All decisions are final and based on the needs of each group and of the performance season ahead. All groups are important and chosen with much thought/care and all casting is encouraged to be accepted with grace and gratitude.

If you have been chosen for the Aurora Dance Hearts, your commitment will run from August/September of 2026 through August of 2027, which will include performances throughout the entire year. Generally, a large portion of our performances take place during the holiday season (November and December) and during the Spring/Summer months. We do sometimes have select additional performances in October and in the Winter season as well, but a lower volume of performances and participation is generally focused on rehearsal during those times frames.

Please make sure to assess your desire to be a part of/commitment to the Aurora Dance Hearts very seriously.

Ms. Maggie will be e-mailing out a more detailed document of information and expectations soon, so please await that full information before making your final decision about participating in the Dance Hearts.
