OPENING AND CLOSING AUDITIONS FOR THE 2026 RECITALS

Aurora Dance Arts is pleased to announce that we are holding auditions on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Meadowood Community Center from 4-6:30 p.m. for the multi-age, multi-level ensembles of the Opening and Closing pieces for the 2026 Spring Dance Recitals.

What are the Opening and Closing choreographic pieces? Great question! The Opening and Closing are large group dances that do exactly what they sound like, they open and close the shows! Dancer comradery and offering various performance opportunities is very important to Aurora Dance Arts. So this is a specialty performance opportunity for dancers, ages 6-19, who are currently enrolled in our Continuous Children's Dance Program. This performance opportunity allows for dancers to get to perform an extra piece or pieces at Recital, offers dancers the opportunity to work with alternate teachers/choreographers to their weekly class instruction, and allows for dancers of all ages to come together to develop large-scale, entertaining dance routines. The Opening starts the show off with a bang, and the Closing ends the show with a fabulous send-off! Dancers must audition for this special opportunity and casting is selective according to dancers' level, technical ability/knowledge and performance quality.

Please click the button below for the Opening and Closing Audition Flyer of information.

Make sure to contact the Dance Office by Saturday, Feb. 14 by 5 p.m. to register for these auditions. You can either call 303.326.8308 or email
[email protected]. There is no fee for these auditions.

Participation in the Opening and Closing of the Spring Dance Recital is very fun and rewarding, and we sure hope to see many of you at the auditions. Please contact us as soon as possible to register for auditioning for this fun performance opportunity!

CAMEO AUDITIONS FOR THE 2026 SPRING DANCE RECITALS

Aurora Dance Arts is pleased to announce that we will be holding Auditions on Sunday, March 22 from 3:30-6 p.m. at Meadowood Community Center for CAMEOS for the 2026 Spring Dance Recitals!

Cameos are an opportunity for dancers, ages 10-19, currently enrolled in the Continuous Children's Dance Program, to submit a dance routine of their own choreography for consideration to be performed at one of the Spring Dance Recitals (either Pre or Beg-Adv Level). Again, it is one of the missions of Aurora Dance Arts to offer a variety of performance opportunities to our dancers. We also believe deeply in allowing our students the chance to express themselves creatively by choreographing their own original works. This opportunity allows dancers to perform an extra piece at Recital, offers dancers the chance to decide their own music/choreography/costuming in the creative process, and allows dancers to experience a distinct way of performing outside of dancing in a group in their class routines. Dancers must audition and casting is highly selective according to dancers' technical ability/knowledge, the creativeness of their choreography, their preparedness for the audition, and their performance quality.

Please click the button below for the Cameo Audition Flyer of information, and please note that included in that information is the Cameo Audition Form that must be submitted prior to the auditions to communicate a student's intention to audition.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All Cameo Audition Forms must be submitted to the Dance Office by March 21, by no later than 5 p.m. Dancers may bring their audition form to the Ms. Maggie’s office at Meadowood in person or e-mail it to [email protected]. Dancers will be assigned an audition time slot for the auditions on March 22 once the form has been received.

Having your Cameo selected to be performed in one of the Spring Dance Recitals is a wonderful honor. We sure hope that many of our dance students will consider submitting for these auditions!

Congratulations to the Dancers of the 2025-2026 Season of
The Aurora Dance Hearts!

We are excited to announce the casting for the dancers chosen to be members of the 2025-2026 Season of The Aurora Dance Hearts Performing Groups!

Please click the button below for the casting and general information regarding expectations and fees for dancer who will be participating in these specialty performance groups.

Ms. Maggie will be e-mailing out a more detailed document of information and expectations early next week, so please await that full information before making your final decision about participating in the Dance Hearts. We will let you know soon the deadline to accept your Aurora Dance Hearts casting.

The Aurora Dance Hearts are special groups of dancers who serve as ambassadors for the program at various events throughout the year. Generally, these groups perform anywhere from 10-15 extra times per year, and dancers in Group A get the opportunity for two additional concert-style stage performances at the Aurora Fox Arts Center and the Elaine Wolf Theater!

Participation in these groups is decided by audition and the process is selective. Dancers must commit to a challenging schedule of extra classes/rehearsals and appearances. Though it is demanding, it is also so much fun. We are so excited for the upcoming season!
