“My main focus for the Prairie Light & Color environmental installation is to give a visual language for this site that is joyful, accessible, and acts as a visual identity that has the opportunity to constantly change throughout the day and seasons,” says Rolstad. “This arboreal theme is utilized as a visual compliment in an environment where the viewer can experience the installation from many viewpoints from the parkway and entering and leaving the station.” – Koryn Rolstad
Artist Biography:
Koryn Rolstad, Seattle, WA has earned an international reputation as a public artist since 1975. She established Koryn Rolstad Studios (KRS) after graduating from the University of Washington with a BA degree in Fine Arts, with studies in Environmental Design, Architecture and Engineering. She integrates visual and interactive identity while achieving goals for community education, language and environmental context.
