1. How can I add my book to the Aurora Public Library collection?
Authors may donate a copy of their work to any Aurora Public Library location, and if it meets with collection development guidelines, it may be added to the collection. If it does not meet those guidelines, it will be donated to the Friends of the Aurora Public Library for sale in their bookshop to support library programming. Due to the number of materials received, we are unable to contact authors regarding the status of their books.
2. How long will it take to get my book added to the library catalog?
We can’t guarantee how long it will take for your book to be added to the library catalog. When a book is self-published, it is catalogued manually. The timing depends on current workload. You can expect your book to be added to the catalog within six months of acceptance of the title.
3. Will my book's cover appear on the catalog?
An outside vendor called Syndetics uploads book cover images to the catalog automatically. If your book cover is not in their database (which most self-published books are not), then a general graphic will be used instead of the book cover.
