POST-STORM CLEANUP
The city monitors and addresses tree damage following storms. If you have storm-damaged trees that require the city's attention, please report the damage so that crews can assess the situation and take appropriate action. Prompt reporting of storm damage ensures that we can prioritize and address issues efficiently.
What the City Will Do: The city will clear public rights-of-way, including streets and sidewalks, to ensure safety. Please refer to the Important Reminders below and the Tree Care Tips tab to learn about the Homeowner’s responsibilities.
How to Report Tree Damage After a Storm: Submit a report online, using the button below or call the Forestry division at 303.739.7177 to report fallen trees, broken limbs, or blockages on public rights-of-way. Please note, the form is only active during storms.
Important Reminders:
Private Tree Cleanup: If a tree on your property, that is not owned by the city, is removed from the public right-of-way, you are still responsible for cleaning up and disposing of the tree debris. This includes all parts of the tree (branches, limbs, etc.).
No Public Dump Sites: The city does not provide public dump sites for storm debris. Please do not place tree debris on city streets or sidewalks.
City Crews Do Not Collect Private Material: The city does not pick up private materials, including tree limbs or brush from private property. We do not separate private debris from city-owned debris. If private debris is mixed with city-owned debris, the city will not remove it.
No Leaf Pickup by the City: The city does not provide leaf collection services. Homeowners are responsible for the disposal of leaves on their property through their waste management provider.
