Posted on 03/10/2025

(March 10, 2025) – The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting of a teenager at a mobile home park in northwest Aurora.

About 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aurora police patrol officers responded to a local hospital on a report of two teenagers who self-transported with gunshot wounds. Responding officers later learned both patients were 15-year-old boys. One of the boys sustained life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital.

The investigation to date has determined three 15-year-old boys were inside a residence at a mobile home park in the 1600 block of Sable Boulevard. One of the boys was playing with a firearm when it discharged, striking himself and victim. The third 15-year-old was not injured and drove the two injured boys to the hospital.

The shooter was later arrested on second-degree murder charges. Formal charges will be filed by the Adams District Attorney’s Office.

None of the teenagers are being identified because they are minors. Investigators are still working to determine how the teens obtained the firearm.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
