AFR rescues two dogs in structure fire.
At 2016 on August 24, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire in the neighborhood near Exposition Ave and Moline St.
First arriving fire units found heavy fire to the back of the home, with smoke coming from the attic space along the eaves of the roofline. Firefighters effectively coordinated their efforts to fight the fire, conduct a thorough search that led to the rescue of two dogs, and employ vertical ventilation techniques, which helped enhance visibility, and release heat and smoke from within the home.
The fire was brought under control by crews on-scene, and the fire is under investigation.
Unfortunately, the family will be displaced due to fire damage and will be staying with neighbors for the evening. Nothing further updates expected.
