40th Ave & Airport Blvd - Gateway
Location: The University of Colorado A Line adjacent to 40th Avenue and Airport Boulevard
Vision: This Gateway Park East Station Area Plan presented a vision for the long-term development of this future TOD, which included an existing RTD park-n-Ride lot. The objectives of the plan were to identify the best location for the station relative to development, identify the form of development and how parking for development and the park-n-Ride could be accommodated, and specify how this could be a TOD with a well-defined pedestrian character. The Aurora City Council approved the plan in 2009 as an amendment to the 2009 Aurora Comprehensive Plan.
Today: The station provides easy access to the A Line and Denver International Airport, and is located in close proximity to a number of employers, including United Natural Foods, Crane Worldwide Logistics and New Age Beverages Corporation, along with restaurants, retail and services.
