Boating Regulations
Quincy Reservoir is open March 1 to Oct. 31 and boating season starts once the ice has thawed, mid to late March.
- All state regulations are enforced. All boats/vessels with motors including electric motors must be registered with the State of Colorado.
- Lifejackets/personal flotation devices are required for everyone regardless of age on board any type of watercraft, including but not limited to paddle boards, boats, kayaks, canoes, etc.
- Children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a lifejacket/personal flotation device at ALL times while on board a watercraft.
- Lifejackets must be a U.S. Coast Guard approved, properly fitting size for the intended wearer, and readily accessible to the wearer on the watercraft.
- No gas motors. Non-motorized vessels or electric motors only. No sailboats.
- Hand-launched vessels only; vehicle/trailers not permitted in water.
- Any vessel that contains a compartment capable of holding water will require a Watercraft Access Pass and must go through boat inspection.
- When required, the Watercraft Access Pass (WAP) must be purchased annually for $20. It must be permanently affixed to the vehicle towing the vessel or on the vessel itself.
