Paid on-street parking along Florida Avenue (on both sides), between Abilene Street and Iowa Drive, will be permanently REMOVED soon to accommodate the addition of new bike lanes to access the Florida Light Rail Station. An exact date in July that the on-street parking will be eliminated has not been determined at this time. We ask that you please be prepared to relocate, at any time, in the near future. Parking in the adjacent residential neighborhoods is NOT allowed without a valid permit.
Convenient and available parking can be found at the Iliff Station Parking Garage located near E. Iliff Avenue and S. Blackhawk Street.
For more information on the bike lane project, please visit the city’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Planning web page and select the “Westerly Creek & Toll Gate Creek Connections to Florida Station”.
RV Parking Ordinance
Did you know there was an ordinance change regarding
Recreational Vehicles?
Effective as of July 7th, 2018:
A recreational vehicle is defined as a vehicle designed to be used primarily for recreational, camping, travel, or seasonal use that either has its own motor power or is or can be mounted on or towed by another vehicle. “Recreational Vehicle” includes motor homes, camper trailers, truck campers, watercraft, snowmobiles, and off-highway vehicles.
No recreational vehicle can be parked for a length of time in excess of five days on a right-of-way. If the vehicle remains after the expiration of the five day period, the vehicle will be subject to ticketing and marked for a 24 hour tow. It will not be a defense that the vehicle has been moved to a different location within the public right-of-way. To be in compliance, the vehicle must be removed from ALL public streets for 72 hours.
