Spring Dance Recitals

TENTATIVE RECITAL DATES FOR AURORA DANCE ARTS!

We are continuing to do our utmost regarding our Spring Dance Recital theater booking, and we will do our very best to try to make the dates that I am providing below our official dates. Please add these dates to your calendar and plan on them unless otherwise notified.

  • *We will be holding two Beg-Adv Level Recitals this year, which includes the levels of Beg, I, II, II/III, III, III/IV & IV. Most classes will just be in either one or the other of these performances. Exact details of the show orders for these Recitals are still being developed, but we will get this information out to you as soon as possible of which classes are performing on which dates. We thank you for your patience in this process, as many factors go into creating these show orders and we are still awaiting our finalized theater rental permit.

  • *There will only be one Pre Recital this year, which includes the levels of Tippy Toes, all Pre classes & Adv Pre Ballet/Tap.

  • *Tentative but Planned Recital Dates for Beg-Adv Recitals: Either Friday, June 7 or Saturday, June 8, in the evening. Some students may be in both recitals depending on how many classes they take.

  • *Dress Rehearsal for the Friday, June 7 Recital will highly likely be on Wednesday, June 5 in the evening. This may have to be adjusted dependent on which venue we end up with.

  • *Dress Rehearsal for the Saturday, June 8 Recital will highly likely be on Thursday, June 6, in the evening. This may have to be adjusted dependent on which venue we end up with.

  • *The Dress Rehearsal & Recital for the Pre level will highly likely both be held on Saturday, June 8, with the Dress Rehearsal in the early afternoon & the Recital in the late afternoon. *This may have to be adjusted dependent on which venue we end up with.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RECITAL???

COSTUMES:

Your child’s costume is theirs to keep.

Your dance account must be current, including all class & costume fees, before costumes will be distributed. As costumes arrive in the Dance Office, the instructors will periodically bring them into your child's class to make sure that they fit & then get labeled with the child's name. Costumes will start to be distributed in late April & early May as we receive the last of our costume orders. Your instructors will give you details of what shoes, tights, hair & make-up is required of your dancer.

TICKETS FOR RECITAL:

$14 per person, assigned seating. Ticketing site fees do apply for Eventbrite, our ticketing provider.

Tickets go on sale May 13 online on the EventBrite ticketing site. We will provide you a link to the ticket purchase site on May 10.

Tickets will also be available for purchase at the dress rehearsals & at the door if we have not already sold out. However, because the seating is assigned, we cannot guarantee how many seats will be available and/or if you will be able to get seats all together with your family. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended!

Every person over 2 years of age attending the recital must have a ticket. If you have a child under the age of 2, they are free and may sit on your lap for the duration of the show.

Do not buy a ticket for your dance student who is in the performance. They are performing & thus, do not require a ticket.

PERSONAL RECITAL PHOTOGRAPHY:

Photography and videography are permitted ONLY during the dress rehearsal.

Cameras will not be allowed in the theater during performances. Flash photography, videography & camera lights can: be hazardous for the dancers, violate the integrity of the instructors’ choreography & be distracting to those around you. We appreciate your respect for this policy.

PROFESSIONAL VIDEOGRAPHY OF THE SHOW:

A professional company, AkVideo, will film all recitals. DVD’s or Mp4’s of the recitals will be available for purchase. Forms will be handed out in classes in May & will also be available in the lobby at Recital.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS:

We will be seeking Parent Volunteers both for backstage help & usher/front of house help for the Recitals. We will be sending out a Sign-up Genius if you would like to volunteer. Parent volunteer help is integral to our shows running smoothly & we very much appreciate any help you might be able to provide. Backstage volunteers will not need a ticket for Recital.
