On May 25th at about 1:00 AM, Aurora Police and Fire-Rescue responded to a man in the roadway in the area of S. Parker Rd. near the 9-mile RTD station.  Officers found an adult African American male in the middle of the road, specifically in the exit lane from southbound I-225 to southbound Parker Rd.   Aurora Fire-Rescue personnel attempted life saving measures, but his injuries were to serious and he died at the scene.

One motorist who believed they stuck the man stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.  It is believed another vehicle hit the male and left the scene.  The victim was crossing in an unlit section of road and not within a crosswalk.

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations unit.  The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time, the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will make notifications at a later date.

If you witnessed this accident or have information about the accident, please call Officer Richard Mervin at 303-739-6076.

On May 24th at 1:53 PM, Aurora Police and Fire-Rescue responded to a crash in the area of E. Quincy Ave. and S. Harvest ST.  Officers found a silver Nissan Titan with an unconscious adult female and a black Ford F-150 with two adults who were able to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries.

The female driving the Nissan Titan was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries, it was at the hospital where she died of her injuries.  It appears that the driver and sole occupant of the Nissan Titan was traveling west on Quincy Ave. and crossed the center line colliding head on with the Ford Truck traveling eastbound.

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations unit.  The identity of the driver is not being released at this time, the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will make notifications at a later date.   At this time, it does not appear that alcohol or speed will be contributing factors in this accident.

If you witnessed this accident or have information about the accident, please call Detective Doug Daufeldt at 303-739-6303.
