Summer Theatre Camps with Cultural Services

Summer Theatre Camps with Cultural Services
Posted on 06/14/2021
Our friends with the City of Aurora's Cultural Services are offering some amazing summer camp opportunities, and there’s still time to register!

In these classes, students will learn about storytelling, improvisation, acting, staging & characterization.  In addition, staff will help them develop lifelong skills such as listening, reading, memorization, focus & concentration.  Students will create scripts, characters, monologues, scenes & performance pieces based on the themes & book series below with guidance from experienced theatre educators & directors. Each theatre camp will culminate in a performance for family and friends on the final day of class.

Classes are available for ages 4-18 (grouped by age and interest), and are based around favorite books, authors, and themes – such as Mo Willem’s "Elephant & Piggie" series,  "Star Wars", "The Hunger Games" and an exciting exploration of all things extra-terrestrial.

Learn more about summer camps here. For more information or to sign your child up for summer camp, call Lisa at 303.739.6520 or click here to register.

To support these classes, our librarians have tracked down some amazing books that may spark ideas, inspiration, and innovation in camp attendees.  Check out our booklists below!
