Aurora Public Library, in collaboration with Jefferson County Public Library, are proud to present a virtual visit with Jenny Goebel, author of picture books and middle grade novels. Join APL and JCPL in reading her book “Out of My Shell” through the month of November for Family Book Club and meet the author virtually on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Register here to receive the Zoom link.

“Out of My Shell” tells the story of Olivia, still coping with her parents’ separation, as she tries to find the courage to help save an endangered sea turtle population during her summer trip to Florida. Can she save the turtles and heal herself in the process? “Out of My Shell” is a story of friendship, courage and the magic that can happen when someone stands up for what’s right. It was the 2020 Green Earth Book Award Winner for Cadmus’ Children’s Fiction. Visit our blog for weekly discussion questions as we read the book together.

"Out of My Shell" can be picked up at Tallyn's Reach Library (303.627.3050) and at a Jefferson County Public Library; it is also available as an eAudiobook via Hoopla instantly for free with your library card.

This program is being hosted via Zoom video conferencing. To receive the link to log on, please register and include your email address.
