“Song for a Whale” tells the story of Iris, a 12-year-old deaf girl who is a tech genius. Being the only deaf person in her school, she is often treated differently by her peers. She finds a unique connection with Blue 44, a whale who is unable to speak with other whales, and wants to find a way to “sing” for him. The problem? He’s 3,000 miles away. This middle-grade realistic fiction novel is a heart-warming story of how one person can really make big waves.
