Housing

Aurora neighborhoods vary in size, character and cultural history. Single Family detached homes are the most prevalent residential building type throughout the city. The Aurora Places Comprehensive Plan provides a place based approach for producing unique places with a mix of housing types. The median gross rent for rented occupied units in Aurora has been increasing over the past few years. In 2018 the median gross rent in Aurora was $1,241.00. The median gross rent is now $1,354. Gross rent asked for occupied housing units is slightly less than it is in the metro area.
