How do I schedule an inspection?
Inspections can be scheduled online at Aurora4Biz.org, by faxing the Permit Center at 303-739-7412, by emailing [email protected] or by calling the Permit Center at 303.739.7420.

How soon will my inspection happen?
Inspections can typically be scheduled for as soon as the next business day.

Can I schedule my inspection for a specific time?
No, however homeowners may request a morning or afternoon inspection. To get an estimated time frame for an inspection, call the Permit Center after 7:30 a.m. the day of the inspection.

Do I need to be on site for my inspection?
Someone 18 years or older needs to be on site to provide access to the project. If access is open and free of animals a note can be posted allowing inspectors onto a vacant property.

If I need multiple inspections in one day will one inspector cover them all?
While many inspectors hold multiple certifications we cannot guarantee only one inspector. It is based on their availability each day.

Will all of the inspections happen at the same time?
Possibly, but typically no. The inspectors do not travel together.

Will the inspectors call me to let me know they are on the way?
Yes, they typically call about 30 minutes before they will arrive.

What documents will I need on site for my inspection?
Legible city-approved plans printed in color must be available on site and if a your have a permit card please have that available.

Can I get an inspection on a home or building that I am interested in purchasing?
No. City inspectors only inspect permitted projects, and only the scope of work covered under that permit.

If I'm not sure what I will need to do to ensure that my project is code compliant. Will an inspector come out and tell me what I need?
After you have been issued a permit for your project you can schedule consultations with the inspectors and they will explain what you will need.
